On behalf of Rotary International District 6910, welcome to The Rotary Club of Oconee.  You are among more than 3400 Rotarians in District 6910 and 1.2 million Rotarians around the globe working for peace through good will and world understanding. As we move into our second century of service this goal is even more resolute.

Each year the Rotary International President selects a theme for the entire Rotary World.  This year RI President John Kenny has selected “The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands” as his theme. The Rotary motto since 1911 has been “Service Above Self”.

I would recommend that you go to the District 6910 website www.rotarydistrict6910.org and to the Rotary International website www.rotary.org to get a better understanding of the great organization of Rotary.

The best advice that I can give you is to become actively engaged in the good work of Rotary– this is truly the spirit of “Service Above Self”.  As you learn and grow in Rotary take advantage of the numerous opportunities to serve at the Club and District level. You will be better for it, your Club will be better for it,  and your Community and World will be better for it.
